It’s sometimes hard to know how to take the next step. You may feel you’ve lost your way. Or you may feel overwhelmed or stuck, for yourself, or in a relationship. I created Compass Rose Counseling to be a space where you can feel respected and accepted for who you are, without judgment, so that you can have support on your journey. Counseling is offered for individuals, couples (all types), families, teens and parents.
I can help you walk through and find relief from anxiety, depression, and trauma; navigate life transitions; and intentionally build your most important relationships.
I have an area of focus in supporting and providing parent counseling for parents and caregivers raising children with disabilities and special healthcare needs, including autism. I'm trained in Gottman couples therapy (level 1) as well as positive parenting programs (Stepping Stones Triple P). I offer support groups and workshops for organizations, schools and agencies.
My training was at the University of South Carolina, with an EdS (above a masters) in Counseling, with a focus in Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy. I've worked with clients of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was a parent-educator supporting families raising children with disabilities, including IEPs, 504s and positive parenting.
Compass Rose Counseling is a small, independent counseling practice – which means I can put you and your needs first, without feeling pulled by corporate or other outside interests.
I offer complimentary 15 minute phone consultations, so that you can ask me your questions and we can see how we might be a fit together.
